Ex-militants make case for Toru-ebe State, oil block licensing

By Onoja Innocent

BOMADI — Niger Delta ex-agitators have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to revisit the unattended, critical issue of creation of Toru-ebe State in the Niger Delta, which the just concluded national conference failed to address in their deliberations.

The ex-militants noted that the Niger Delta struggle brought development to the oil-rich region, emancipation of the people from oppression, as well as address the issue of illegal allotment of oil licences, where almost all the licensees are non-Niger Deltans.
The ex-agitators urged the Presidency and the National Assembly to pay attention to the issue in the submitted confab report before ratification.
