Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Professor (Mrs.) Selina Okoh, has assured all registered political parties operating in the state that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, would conduct a free, fair and credible poll in 2015.

Professor Okoh stated this while addressing loyalists of Imo State chapter of the Labour Party, LP, after they successfully conducted their state congress in Owerri.

While commending members of the Labour Party for conducting a hitch free congress, the soft-spoken REC however urged them to ensure they collect their permanent voters card.

“The permanent voters card remains the strength of the voter to elect anybody of his or her choice. I must also appeal to those who do not have voters card to get registered, as this will enable them to fully participate in the next general election”, Okoh said.

Speaking also, the National Vice Chairman, South East, Comrade Callistus Uju Okafor, said that “the peaceful disposition of party to address matters of interest has made Labour Party to stand tall among other political parties”.

It was his considered opinion that Labour Party is not only more organized and in a position to bring desirable good governance in Imo State, but will also continue to support transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

In his post election speech, the State Chairman, Mr. Chukwuemeka Samuel Osuji, assured members that his executive would soon unveil some an action plan that would ultimately lead oust the incumbent governor from Government House, Owerri.
