Rector of the new Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas in Bonny, Bonny Local Government Area, Rivers State, Prof Elijah Tamuno, has assured Niger Deltans that the school will enrich the knowledge of people of the region on oil and gas issues.

The Rector, who spoke when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Rotimi Amaechi, said that the school was set up by President Goodluck Jonathan with a take-off grant of N1 billion.
“As you are aware, it’s been a long road. This started 14 years ago. It was to be a National Technical Institute by the Rivers State Government and six years later, the Federal Government asked Petroleum Training Development Fund, to take over the construction of the institution at the time as a way of providing opportunities for Niger Delta Youths.”
