As the auto sector continues to mourn the Executive Director of the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association (NAMA), Mr. Arthur Olisa Madueke, who died recently in Lagos, the Motor Vehicle & Miscellaneous Assembly Sectoral Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), in conjunction with the Madueke family, has unveiled a programme of funeral activities leading to the burial of the departed.

A statement issued by the Chairman of the Auto Sectoal Group), Dr David V.C. Obi, indicates that Madueke’s remains will be interred on Friday, September 19, 2014, in his country home, in Ngodo, Isuochi, Abia state, which, according to him, is about an hour’s drive from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Emene, Enugu.
The burial will be preceded by a funeral service.
Chief D. V. C. Obi confirmed that as part of the funeral arrangement announced by Mr. Bosah Madueke (Arthur Madueke’s son) on behalf of the family, there would be a service of songs at his residence in Lagos, on August 30, while another service of songs would be held in his home town in Ngodo, on September 18.
The statement said: “As the Executive Director of the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association, Arthur Madueke devoted his life to working for the Motor Vehicle & Miscellaneous Sectoral Group of MAN, NAMA and the auto industry generally.
There is no doubt that he made very valuable contributions to the growth and development of our sector”.
The Auto Group Chairman, therefore, urged all stakeholders to show appreciation for the late Madueke’s achievements by being part of the burial ceremony in Isuochi.
Until his death last month, late Madueke headed the secretariat of the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association located in the premises of VON Automobiles plant, Ojo, Lagos – relating with government, government agencies and parastatals, relevant groups and other stakeholders, on behalf of NAMA.
