Coach Peter Dedevbo has ordered Nigeria’s U-20 women soccer side to be clinical in front of goal when they tackle Korea Republic tonight at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.
Dedevbo watched his troops come from a goal down to draw Mexico in their opener on Wednesday and ahead of tonight’s crunch game against Korea,w ho were also held to a 1-1 draw by England, said t only a victory would be good enough for the Falcionets in their bid to progress to the next round of the competition.
Speaking with FIFA.com, Dedevbo said his players must improve in all departments, adding that he they must learn from the mistakes they made against Mexico.
“There are some matches that, although you expect to win, you can’t manage to do so, and I’m a little bit dissapointed today. But it was a good fight between the two teams. I have to say that Mexico’s goalkeeper, Cecilia Santiago, is impressive and produced a good performance today.
Looking ahead to the next match I want to work on every position on the field – goalkeeper, defence, midfield, but the most important thing we need to improve on is our finishing. We must be clinical against Korea”, said Dedevbo.
