Yenagoa—The leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State has called on Governor Seriake Dickson to obey the resolution of the state House of Assembly on the alleged dereliction of duty by the Executive Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Mr. Walton Liverpool.
APC noted that the perceived refusal of Governor Dickson to discipline Liverpool over his indictment by the state Assembly was disheartening.
In a statement in Yenagoa yesterday by Mr. Fortune Panebi, Publicity Secretary, APC said the refusal of the governor to take action on the resolution of the state Assembly was a clear indictment on the transparency status of the current administration in the state.
APC said: “We will want to caution public office holders to carry out their duties within the ambit of the law. This is against the backdrop of the resolution by the state Assembly that the unduly sacked academic staff of SUBEB Board be reinstated.
“We, however, watch with embarrassment and chagrin that the state Assembly is silent on the refusal of the state governor to take action against the indicted Executive Secretary of SUBEB.”
