BOMADI— Mixed reactions have greeted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ward primaries, which took place yesterday in Delta State, as aggrieved youths of the party in Bomadi Local Government Area have alleged that there was no sign that primaries held in the wards they visited.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after their tour of Bomadi, Youth President of Bomadi community, Mr. Bernard Ondukare, expressed displeasure over the apparent non-activity at the various wards visited, noting that the undemocratic tendencies must not be allowed to prevail in a democratic setting.

He said the party had assured Deltans of free and transparent ward primaries, adding that they were amazed to see secret selection of party flag bearers in various wards to the detriment of other contestants, who he said had also spent a lot in the race.

The Delta State Phase two ex-militants under the amnesty programme from Bomadi council, also rejected what they said was a plot perpetrated by some elements in the party to hijack a democratic process, contrary to democratic practice.

The state Chairman, Phase two ex-militants, Mr. Kingsley Muturu, called for the cancellation of the exercise in the council, which he insisted never took place.
