Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, has described as laughable and unthinkable, the claim by TNS-RMS, a research firm, that APC candidate, Rauf Aregbesola was being backed by 73% of Osun voters.
The minister, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Wale Akinola, said that the purported survey was only meant to deceive the voting populace across the state, adding that no amount of propaganda would save Aregbesola from being defeated during the August 9 election.
“The purported survey is a deceit of the highest order. Everybody knows that the poll was sponsored by APC and their antics cannot stop us from winning the coming election. The people of the state are yearning for change because of the misrule and bad governance of the APC led government.
“The poll was conducted by the APC apologists and the intention behind it is to get public sympathy when they lose the election. We are not bothered by their propaganda because the election result on August 9, will give the world the true wishes of the people.
He said, “I want to urge the good people of the state to disregard the alleged poll and come out en masse on August 9 to cast their votes for Senator Iyiola Omisore, so as to bring back the lost glory of the state.”
