Warri refinery boss boosts Unity tourney

THE Managing Director of Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, Mr. Paul Obelley, has donated items worth millions of naira to the organisers of the Nigerian Unity Football Tournament.

Items presented to the organisers include footballs, jerseys, boots and trophies as part of the company’s contributions to promote peace and youth in the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.

Speaking during the unveiling of the Unity Cup and investiture of patrons and matrons in Asaba, Delta State, Obelley said the project was laudable.

The unveiling of the football tournament was done by Mrs. Chinwe Monu Olarewaju, Chairman ALGON, Delta State.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Award of National Patrons to Obelley
and Mr. Joel Onowakpo Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue.

Mrs Olarewaju received an award as matron while several other top dignitaries were also honoured.

TheNational Project Director of the tourney, Moses Ebahor, thanked the Delta State Government and prominent citizens of the state for their contributions to the success of the event.

The chairman, Local Organising Committee, Mr. Alfred Ejugo, said the purpose of the tournament was to engaged the youths at the grassroots and discover talents in football, music and other youth projects.
