Former Governor of old Oyo State, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, yesterday, endorsed the APC candidate, Rauf Aregbesola saying the PDP’s “robbery” in Ekiti last month cannot be repeated in Osun.

Speaking at a rally in Ede, Olunloyo who governed the old Oyo State in the last three months of 1983 said he was convinced that the governance and style of Aregbesola was the best for the state.
“The last two weeks they robbed the APC in Ekiti. God will never allow that to happen again. Secondly, of all the Governors, Ogbeni Omoluabi Rauf Aregbesola knows the grassroots politics best.”

Advising other Nigerian governors to learn from Aregbesola’s governance model, he said many today drop the name of Chief Obafemi Awolowo to reap political benefits.
The former Oyo governor said, his first discussion with Aregbesola was on the improvement of education, saying “anyone who feeds school children is taking care of education.”

Olunloyo said if care is not taken, the problems of social and economic tension could consume Nigeria. “There is Boko Haram in the North and there is kidnapping in the South. May the two evils never meet.”
He flayed those he claimed had put a religious toga on the governor saying that such sentiments could not be true given the kind of colourful burial he gave the late Prophet Obadare.

Olunloyo said he was pleased with Aregbesola’s achievements as an alumnus of the Polytechnic of Ibadan.
“Aregbesola is the best among the South-West governors. He understands politics very well and he is using it to serve the people, old and young. I am highly delighted that he attended the Polytechnic of Ibadan, which we founded during our time”, he said.
