Lagos—NO fewer than 70 staff from different cadres under the Education District V1, have retired from the services of Lagos state government.
The state government, however, charged the retiring teachers to only invest their retirement benefits wisely in a business they know about.
Speaking at the ceremony held in honour of retiring staff who served the state in various schools, Mr. Tajudeen Atiko-Balogun ,who represented the Head of Service Mrs. Oluseyi Williams, appreciated the retirees saying, “We are here to honour you because you have served the state government diligently and government is appreciating you for all that you have done for the state.”
The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District V1, Mrs. Iyabode Osifeso, while commending the retirees, noted that the officers though retiring were not tired, having worked for 35 years or attaining the statutory age of 60.
