Lagos state government seems poised for additional revenues but this time around it is doing so, ensuring that mobile phone users who happen to be game lovers, can attract millions of Naira to themselves.

It begins with Winlot lottery which last week launched an online lottery mobile app as part of the activities designed to generate more revenue to the government.

The app which can be downloaded to the mobile via the link www.mywinlot.ng/mobile gives game lovers the opportunity of playing Winlot in their mobile phones.

The app has three categories, Winlot Gold Coast, Winlot International and Winlot Jackpot, respectively.

CEO of Winlot Lottery, Mr Nimish Bhatnagar, said that since everything is going mobile, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for game lovers to play games at their convenience and in the comfort of their own homes.

He said, “We are happy to have this enriching experience to launch this interesting lottery mobile app with Glo and MTN that will enrich our gaming profile within the region. Most important of all, it can provide players with more convenient channel to enjoy our services”.

However, the Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State lottery Commission, Mr Lanre Gbajabiadi noted that revenues from the lottery commission are used to finance other sectors of the state; health, education, infrastructure and environment sector.

These remitted revenues from the operation of lottery commission he stated are used by the Lagos State government to benefit the citizens of the state. He expressed hope that the new online lottery mobile app will make it easier for people to play lottery games in the comfort of their homes.

Gbajabiadi described the app as a new distribution platform targeted at people as opportunities are created by the lottery board to improve the standard of living of Nigerians. He said statistics show Nigeria has the potential to become the largest social media user in the African continent.
