Out here in Sao Paulo, every football lover believes that the Super Eagles would slide through their first group opponents Iran like hot knife on butter when both teams clash on Monday.
And the enthusiasm of Nigerians and comments of Super Eagles also suggest that they would be on fire against the Iranians. But Iran coach and master of the game, Carlos Queiroz has warned his opposite number, Stephen Keshi not to count his chicks before they are hatched.
‘’We’re concentrating on the Nigerian match. For us, Nigeria means the World Cup. The Nigerian match means everything for us. We’ll do our best to bring pride and dignity to Iran”, he vowed showing how serious they view the first match against the Eagles.
He dismissed bookmakers who tip Nigeria to overrun the Iranians.
‘’Iran will make a statement in the World Cup. Iran is one of those countries where football is in the blood of the people. The players give their all in anything they set out to do”, the coach added.
Eagles battle Iran in Curitiba on Monday.
However, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi said here that the Eagles Nigerians saw in the friendly matches will be different duing the matches here. He said Nigerians should expect a better team.
