Lagos State Government, through the Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, Brigade, the Law Enforcement Unit of the state’s Ministry for the Environment, recently, donated different gift items, including rams, goats, sheep and food items, to some orpahanage homes in the state.
The benefiting homes include: Little Saints Orphanage, Abule Egba Branch and Bab-Es Salam Home, Joel Ogunaike Street, G.R.A, Ikeja.
The donations were made following the directive of the Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello that confiscated consumable items including strayed livestock found constituting environmental nuisance or destroying the beautification project of the government should henceforth, be given out to orphanages in the state.
Mr. Tunde Olusesi, Head of Public Relations Unit of the agency, who made the donation on behalf of the KAI Administrator, Mr. Onipede, commended the management of the Homes, stressing that government gave them the gifts to encourage and support them in their service to humanity.
Receiving the gift items on behalf of the management of the Little Saint Orphanage, Mrs. Tayo Shekoni expressed gratitude to the state governor, commissioner and entire staff of the Brigade for the gesture aimed at alleviating the suffering of the less privileged in the society.
Also, Mr. Idris Mohammed, who received the items on behalf of the management of Bab-Es Salam Home also commended the state government for the kind gesture and prayed that the Almighty God will continue to bless and reward the staff of the state government abundantly.
Some of the orphanages that had earlier benefited include: Modupe Cole Memorial Home, Akoka; SOS Home, Isolo; Bethlehem Home, Ikotun; Great Faith Orphanage, Bayeku, Ikorodu, among others.
