A 25-year-old man, Udoka Nwokedi, has been arrested by the police in Lagos State, for allegedly stabbing his 22-year-old roommate to death.

The victim who was identified simply as Onyedika, was said to have met his untimely death during a fight that broke out between him and Nwokedi at their No. 6, Cardoso Street, Kirikiri Town, apartment.
An eyewitness told Crime Alert that Onyedika and Nwokedi had quarelled for four days over a yet-to-be known issue, but it turned into a fight last Wednesday, when   Nwokedi, unplugged Onyedika’s phone from it’s charger.

A resident of Cardoso, who identified himself as Chuks, told Crime Alert that one of Nwokedi’s brothers who was also staying with him in their one-room apartment, tried to stop them from fighting without success. He added that, Nwokedi eventually picked a kitchen knife, after he had been separated  and stabbed Onyedika in his neck, which led to severe bleeding.

According to him “ Onyedika died on his way to the hospital and Nwokedi ran away but was caught while he was trying to sneak out of  town late in the night. We handed him over to the police. I don’t know what led to their quarrel but I thought they were blood  brothers.

However, the suspect, was detained first at the Kirikiri Police Division and later, transferred to the SCID, Panti.
