Following the alleged hijack of a school bus by unknown persons in Nyanya, a contingent of soldiers, anti-terrorism policemen, security operatives and bomb disposal squad have moved in to beef up security in the area.
The siren-blaring convoy with over 20 trucks, tanks and vehicles, was racing towards Jikwoyi as more and more parents made desperate efforts to take back their children from schools.
The armed officials, who were in battle mood, sped through Nyanya, which was rocked last Thursday for the second time in three weeks, even as more of the residents opted to remain indoors as security situation remained fluid.
Parents had invaded schools in Nyanya to evacuate their children following the alleged hijack of a school bus this morning.
The suburb is struggling to recover from twin bomb blasts that killed scores and left many others injured.
It is uncertain if the abductors took away all the children in the bus.
Meanwhile, most primary and secondary schools in Nyanya, Jikwoyi and Karishi have been thrown into chaos as parents stormed the schools to take home their wards.
