Cleric commends Jonathan over anti-gay law

A Cleric, Pastor Theophilus Bola-Paimo has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for signing into law, the Anti-Gay Bill.

Pastor Paimo of the Royal Covenant Assembly, Ilorin commended the President for not succumbing to pressures mounted on him by leaders of some Western nations not to endorse the anti-gay law.

The cleric described the President’s decision as a wise one that would promote Christendom in the country and uplift God’s name.

He condemned those Western countries that support same sex marriage, saying that the practice was evil, satanic, anti-Christ and anti-procreation.

Pastor Paimo said he was totally opposed to same sex marriage, adding that the practice was a mortal sin and God could never forgive anybody that indulged in same sex.

He said that God created man in His own image and later created a companion in person of Eve for Adam, adding that same sex marriage was very unbiblical.

Pastor Paimo said his church would commence a four-day convention during which special prayer would be offered for the country and President Jonathan for God’s guidance and protection.

According to him, the theme of this year’s convention is ‘open heaven’ upon people’s life, destiny, family and career.

The cleric advised politicians in the country to always play the game according to the rule as the nation was preparing for general elections next year.

He said politics should not as a do-or-die affair, saying, “it is only God that puts person in position.”
