Five national officers of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would supervise the local government congress of the party in Rivers, scheduled for April 12.
Chief Andy Nweye, the Interim Publicity Secretary of the party, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Friday that the officers would monitor the conduct of the congress in the 23 local government councils of the state.
‘’ As we speak, materials and all logistics for the congress are ready. They would be moved to the local government areas at the right time.
‘’ We have also made all arrangements to ensure a hitch free congress at the local government areas.
‘’ Indeed, we are set for the congress,’’ he said.
Nweye said delegates elected at the wards would elect the council officers at the congress.
He also said security would be tight at the venues of the congress and warned mischief makers to stay away or risk being arrested. (NAN)
