AWKA — Anambra State Local Government Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Onitsha has nullified the election of the councillorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mr. Ginika Ngoesina in the January 11, 2014, local government poll for Anaku ward in Ayamelum Local Government Area.

In a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, councillorship candidate for Anaku Ward, the tribunal held that Ngoesina was not qualified to contest the said election by virtue of the fact that he was a member of the local government transition committee as at the date of the election.

The tribunal also said it found out that no election was conducted at Anaku on the date of the election, and, therefore, ordered a fresh election for the councillorship seat for Anaku Electoral Ward as stipulated by law.
