Is XBoom making us all Djs?

By Prince Osuagwu

Competition is bringing out a lot of innovation from today’s gadget mak-ers.  The result is that the customer is actually becoming king. Gone are the days when customers struggle to see how products could benefit their family life. Today product features are tailored towards family life to attract reasonable attention.

So, when LG recently introduced its latest  mini Hi-Fi music box tagged X-Boom, I saw a device targeting not only music lovers but also the promotion of memorable family union.

The device is innovatively fitted with hi-tech console for sizzling DJ skills. It is specifically designed for music lovers interested in the scratch right jog dial and passion to be a DJ in their homes.

The LG X-BOOM allows easy control and automation in mixing music using sound effects such as flange, phaser, chorus and delay while also creating beats with backspin, crossfad, and beatboxor using scratch and voice sampling.

It tends to give music lovers some classy enjoyment with its  6 beat-box, 5 voice samples and 7 smart DJ effects, Latin Equaliser and dual USB. Additionally, the X-BOOM’s mini Hi-Fi system has a 2300W RMS and 25000W PMPO that could allow users to enjoy a potent sound output.

No wonder, the company’s General Manager in charge of West African Operation on Convergence Audio Video Division, Mr. Jae Sang Lee, boasted that  “We believe the X-BOOM has proven to be an important stepping stone for young musicians and passionate DJs who want to make a mark in Nigeria’s vibrant music community. At LG, we believe that music brings people together and the X-BOOM is achieving that with its easy to learn controls and great sound” .

He added that with great sound and features that are in tune with times the LG XBOOM DJ Machine has proven to be a huge success amongst the music community in Nigeria.

However, if looks are anything to go by, in terms of sound, one will expect to hear only the  Metallica being played on the XBOOM, but looks can be deceptive. So we demanded for  an experiment and truly the system works well even when one is listening to the soul stirring voice of a mezzo-soprano singer. The sound is also impartial to bass, and can be tweaked if needed.
