KADUNA—Director-General and Chief Executive of the National Teachers’ Institute, NTI, Kaduna, Dr Aminu Ladan Sharehu, has pledged his organisation’s determination to sustain the Strengthening Mathematics and Science Education, SMASE, project.
He, therefore, urged state governments to adhere to the timing and procedures of the training, with a view to maintaining the current tempo.
Sharehu who spoke through the NTI Registrar, Mrs Safiya Balarabe, at the closing ceremony of the cycle two, first Cohort training, said: “It is my belief that you will adhere to the timing and procedures when conducting cycle two trainings for your 200 core teachers.”
He said that the project was key to the achievement of UBEC mandate, even as he described Sciences and Mathematics critical variables in the development of any country.
Representative of the Federal Ministry of Education at the ceremony, Mrs. Amina Abdulkadir, a Principal Education Officer, SMASE Unit, commended the institute and other stakeholders for the effective mobilisation, implementation and delivery of the project.
