UGHELLI — CHRISTIAN Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State chapter, has decried what it described as the myriad leadership potholes in the polity and urged President Goodluck Jonathan to proclaim 2014 a year of national prayers.
It said: “Viewing from the handwriting on the wall, where the immediate past and incumbent President are at war of words, throwing the security of Nigeria to the air, it has become necessary for the wise men in Nigeria, who are patriotic enough with the leadership of the churches through CAN to initiate the proclamation of a national year of prayers for Nigeria.”
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the 2014 CAN rally in Ughelli, Chairman of the chapter, Rt. Rev Diamond Emuobor, said: “The rottenness in the politics of Nigeria calls for a year of prayers, so as to attract the hand of God’s mercy upon our country.”
