Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo of an Ikeja Magistrate Court, yesterday remanded five young men, to Kirikiri Prison Custody, pending legal advice from the office of the director of public prosecution, DPP, over an alleged armed robbery.
The defendants are, Daniel Amiede 28, Tola Rasheed 26, Anthony Okoro 26, Raji Adewale 25 and Ebenezer Ajiboye 24.
They were arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and armed robbery, preferred against them by the police. They have since pleaded not guilty to the offences preferred against them.
The police prosecutor, ASP Barth Nwaokoye, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the alleged crime on September 6, 2013, at about 3:30pm at Block 5, E Close, 52 Road Gowon Estate in Lagos.
Nwaokoye, said that the defendants and others at large while armed with guns, iron cutters and other dangerous weapons, robbed one unregistered Toyota Camry 1998 Model worth N1.2million.
He also said that they robbed one Black Berry Phone N85,000, one Zoom Berry phone N25,000, Jewelries valued N5million, one Wrist Watch, valued at £2,000 (2,000 pounds), one lap top, N120,000 and the sum of N480,000 cash, all total valued N7,410,000, all belonging to one Tope Alalade.
