ABUJA—The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, in partnership with the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has resolved to keep the public abreast of corruption prone-processes in their daily activities, as means of tackling the vice in the country.

The Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, jointly signed by the two bodies covers many aspects of the ICPC’s preventive, education and public enlightenment functions, which would be driven through a joint operational task team comprising  highly professional and skilled and experienced personnel.

Speaking on the agreement in Abuja, the Chairman of ICPC, Bar. Ekpo Nta, said:  “The MoU underscores the imperative of synergy, collaboration and partnership among government agencies towards achieving common objectives; an ideal which ICPC has championed in conduct and approach.
“It is through enlightenment like this that we can apportion responsibility to those that are causing us problem in this country.

“There is no gain saying that fighting corruption is a collective responsibility, and we in ICPC have always emphasized the need for collective wisdom in this national crusade.”

Nta maintained that the collaboration would contribute immensely to the reduction of the frequent cases of fake corps members, noting that the commission was prepared to commence immediate execution of the content of the MoU.
Director General of NOA, Mr Mike Omeri, noted that they would employ Identify, Reject and Report Corruption, IRRC, approach to implement the agreement.
