IBADAN — POLlCEMEN in Oyo and Osun states have been advised to improve on their mode of dressing.
The advice was given by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone 11, Osogbo, Mr. David Olufemi Omojola, yesterday, in Ibadan.
According to him: “Policemen should uphold the image of the police command and must be disciplined. They should uphold the image of the command and the integrity of the Nigeria Police Force.”
This came just as he assured that the 2014 governorship election in Osun State would be peaceful.
The police chief who had earlier paid a courtesy call on Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State said it was unacceptable the way many police officers wear tattered clothes and dirty shoes.
The act, he stressed, sent a wrong signal about the image of the police force.
Governor Ajimobi attributed low crime rate during this festive period to effective policing in the state.
