Group demands appointment of Provost for Delta College

By FESTUS AHON

UGHELLI—CONCERNED Staff of College of Physical Education, Mosogar, COPEM, has called on Delta State Government to appoint a substantive provost for the institution.

The body, in a statement by Mr. Godfrey Barn, said the call became necessary due to the urgent need to reposition the institution for greater academic performance.
Noting that Acting Provost, Mr. Omayui Moses, had done his best, the group said that the appointment of a substantive provost would pave way for speedy development of the only sports institution in the state.

The statement read:  “We believe Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan meant well for the college by constituting its Governing Council.
“The Governing Council has interviewed and shortlisted three persons for the position of a substantive provost since May 21, 2013, but till date, none of these persons shortlisted had been approved by the governor.
“The college staff, hereby, call on the governor to appoint a substantive provost for the college. “
