Gov Ibikunle Amosun

ABEOKUTA — A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a serving Senator at the National Assembly, Gbenga Kaka, has said that there will not be automatic ticket for the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun or any other aspirant seeking elective office on the platform of the party in 2015.
Kaka, a former deputy governor, however, described those who propagate the second term ambition for the governor and other politicians as enemy of progress and development, saying the focus should rather be on how to make the party firm.
Addressing members of the party in Isara-Remo during the grand finale of his tour of the local government areas in Ogun East Senatorial district, which he represents, yesterday, he maintained that the leaders of the party were yet to stabilise the party.
“It is disheartening to hear some people jostling for second term, when we are yet to properly establish the party. We are yet to complete the foundation, people have started picking their rooms. The idea is crazy as it indicates a high level of misplaced priority,” Kaka said.
He stressed that all the candidates, including the governor, senators, others, would have to queue and seek the mandate of the electorate before they can have their second term ticket.
He maintained that all members of the party “have legitimate right to aspire to any position in the coming elections,” adding that the party was yet to have substantive chairmen in the state and the country.
He warned those parading themselves as the chairmen of the party to desist forthwith, saying that the harmonisation committee of the party is yet to be inaugurated.
