Meals-for-All fetes children in Epe

Meals-for-All fetes children in Epe

By Anino Aganbi

The End-of-year event was held in schools 1 and 2 of Zumrattul Islammiyah Primary School, Epe, located behind General Hospital. The names of the head teachers are Mrs Agbayo and Mrs Sanusi. The school lacked infrastructures, so it was very glaring that they needed the aid of people no matter how little.

The head teachers were sceptical about granting interviews to the press until they were told we didn’t want an interview but a small take on what they felt was being done in their school for the children’s end of year party. They went further to thank Meals-for-All founder Funke Sodade for having the welfare of the children at heart. They wished other sponsors would come out to do something spectacular for the kids.

The joy on each child’s face was a sight to behold. Each was given gift packs provided by sponsors. There was lots food to go round. Parents and teachers like wise had so much fun mainly because they where not expecting such. When Vanguard asked some teachers the last time such an occurrence had taken place, they said it hadn’t happened in close to ten years.

Children from neighbouring schools also came. Some were fortunate enough to eat while others were not so lucky. There were lots of activities; games were conducted, dancing competitions were done and the winners were awarded prices. At the end of the day, the children had lots of fun.
