Eaglets

The dice is cast for tonight’s crunch quarterfinal match between the Golden Eaglets and Uruguay in Sharjar, with Coach Manu Garba saying that it is now or never for his boys to deliver the goods to show that they here to lift the FIFA U-17 World Cup for a fourth record time.
With the Nigerians and Brazil sharing the record of lifting the Cup on three occasions, the Africans would strengthen their stake for another bite of the cherry if they beat Uruguay, who Garba has lots of respects for.
Speaking at the pre-match conference yesterday in Sharjar, an upbeat Manu said that there would not be any escape route for the South Americans, whose senior team defeated the Super Eagles at the last Confederations Cup in Brazil.
“The Golden Eaglets are different from the Super Eagles and even if you bring a Uruguayan team with Diego Forlan, we would try our best to win the match.
“As I said earlier, the knockout stage is the most difficult stage of any competition but we are ready to beat Uruguay on Saturday because our only aim of being here is to win the trophy”, added Garba.
