Former Nigeria Premier League (NPL) boss Davidson Owumi has been appointed as chief executive of Warri Wolves.

According to a release made available to Vanguard Sports by Delta Football Association Media officer Timi Ebikagboro and signed by the Secretary General of the Delta State Football Association, Mr Friday Onothoja, the former Rangers international supremo will take charge under a new management.

“The Delta State Sports Commission in conjunction with the Football Association dissolved the management board of the team, having reviewed the performance of the club in the just- concluded 2012/2013 season,” the statement added.

According to the release, the new management of Warri Wolves comprises of Godwin Abigor, chairman, Davidson Owumi – Managing Director/CEO and Emmanuel Ibru – Executive Director (Marketing)

Others include Kenneth Nwaomucha – Executive Director (Youth Development& Strategy),. Ogheneochuko Ambakederemo – Director and Lawrence Omohwo – Secretary.

The reconstituted management board of Warri Wolve will be inaugurated very soon by the executive chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Amaju Pinnick.

Meanwhile, Warri Wolves are undergoing a gradual public-private ownership transition as the new board has been given the mandate to tap into the various marketing windows of the organized private sector for its operations and sustainability.
