Almond Productions Limited, producers of Almond Finance and Wealth Report on Television and Wetin Insurance Dey Do Sef, on Naija Fm is organising the first Insurance Consumers Forum (ICF) in Nigeria.

In a statement, Almond productions stated that the forum with the theme “In pursuit of better service delivery” is being organised with the support of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA).

The forum is scheduled to hold in Lagos on Friday 25th October, 2013 in the function room, Muson Center Onikan Lagos commencing at 10:00am.

The event, which will be chaired by insurance icon, Sir, Ogala Osoka, former Managing Director of Nicon Insurance and Nigeria Reinsurance, will provide the platform for a robust interaction between insurers and the insured’s. The forum will also provide insurers with the golden opportunity to learn first-hand what the insured’s needs and preferences are.

Mr. T.A Fagbemi, the Special Adviser on Energy, Ogun State and past President of Nigerian Institute of Marketing (NIMA) would be the guest speaker. He would speak on ‘Insurance: Selling of an Intangible Product.’

Other highlights of the forum will be; harnessing of information and feelers from the event for the promotion of customers satisfaction as well as reaching out to prospective insureds who will be in attendance to learn firsthand about the benefits of insurance.

Expected participants will include CEO’s of companies, group heads and managers in charge of insurance firms, representatives from the Consumers Protection Council, Fish Farmers Association, trade groups and so on.

The open forum will focus on the following; tiny prints of insurance policies (A Myth); when comprehensive motor policy is not comprehensive enough; exclusions and exemptions; as well as resolving claims issues.

The consumers’ forum no doubt will bridge the gap between insurers and the insured’s as they share ideas on how best to serve their customers better.
