ONITSHA — The people of Ndiaguikenga Ogidi community in Idemili North Local Government have sent a save-our-soul appeal to the Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi to rescue them from a widening gully erosion threatening the area.

Speaking to reporters on the erosion problem, the chairman of the landlord association in the area, Prince Chukwuma Ojukwu said the appeal for government’s assistance became very urgent because of the seriousness of the problem.

He said if no urgent and immediate action was taken next week by government the people would be completely cut off from their neighbouring communities, saying that the development would equally affect their children from going to school while the residents would have no means of going out for their businesses.

He said: ” We call on Governor Peter Obi to at least make this road passable as it is the only access road to our community that has more than 10,000 people. And if this request is met, we assure the governor that we will vote massively for our APGA candidate, Dr. Willie Obiano and ensure that he came out victorious in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.”
