Lagos —Lagos State government in collaboration with stakeholders is currently designing a new policy to enhance sustainable water supply in the state.

Governor Babatunde Fashola disclosed this, weekend, during the 2013 Walk for Nature programme with the theme: “Water for Life,” organised by the state Ministry of the Environment in collaboration with Nigeria Conservation Foundation, NCF.

The governor said 900 million people globally did not have access to potable water, with the number increasing, hence the need to act positively now in water management.

According to Fashola who was represented by Dr. Taofeek Folami, Special Adviser to the Environment, “water is a valuable resource which must be managed very well from its extraction for producing potable water through treatment.”
