N-Delta youths ask Jonathan to inaugurate NDDC board

By EMMA AMAIZE

WARRI— Niger-Delta Youths for Positive Attitude and Progress, NDYPAP, yesterday, urged President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately inaugurate the board of Niger-Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to speed up development in the region.

The group in a statement by its National President, Mr. Emmanuel Enisuo, said “One of the major reasons for creating NDDC is to empower youths and develop the Niger-Delta region, but as it stands now with the long delay in inaugurating the board of the commission, everything is stagnant in the region.

“Crime has increased, contractors have not been paid, ongoing projects have been abandoned because of lack of fund, thereby creating negative impression about Mr. President’s transformation agenda in the Niger-Delta.”

The group also implored the President to appoint “credible and competent persons to be in-charge of the commission to enable the people feel the impact of his transformation agenda.”
