A transformation life coach and Chairman, ACTS Generation, Liala St. Mathew Daniel has expressed the need for Nigerian youths to be productively involved in volunteering activities in order to assist the country in addressing its numerous socio-economic challenges.

Describing revolution  through educating the youths in understanding the power of volunteerism, Liala, who spoke at the Moral Re-armament Initiatives of Change (IofC) volunteer’s day, emphasised on active volunteering service as panacea for Nigeria’s overwhelming challenges.

According to the transformation life coach: “Volunteering would tackle a number of the country’s pit falls and I encourage volunteers to remain rooted in their various levels of efforts in ensuring that youths are transformed to capture and embrace the ideals of volunteerism in order to assist the country overcome various levels of abuse of human rights”. He added that  volunteers must ensure that the mindset of ‘nothing goes for nothing’ is extinguished in order to uphold the culture of absolute unselfishness and discipline in areas that demand total transformation.

She, therefore, urged all  Nigerians at the leadership position as well as non-governmental organisations, NGOs,  to join forces in the campaign for a progressive Nigeria, stressing that “collaborations will bring out committed and effective volunteers in various capacities who will fight to a stand still, a number of evils currently undermining the country.”

The ACTS Generation boss also advised volunteers to include their volunteering activities in their curriculum vitae, CV, so that employees would have a clearer understanding of their areas of interests as well as concentration so as to know where best they can positively impact on the society.

Other dynamic change makers, Obas Ukoko and Taiwo Adewale, who took turns to address participants during the meeting, stressed the value of volunteering and how they have significantly benefited from the practice, having served in several capacities for a better and productive Nigeria.

The duo noted that a selfless volunteer is one who is ready to give his or her time for free and not one who is only interested in monetary returns.
