Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has urged his Liverpool teammates to keep the momentum going as they seek to consolidate their lead in the Premier League.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, with the Nigerian scoring his debut goal to keep the Anfield side top of the table with 10 points.
Moses, who has teamed up with a Liverpool squad brimming with attacking options, watched from close quarters as Daniel Sturridge scored his fourth goal in a Premier League match against Swansea and though the on-loan Chelsea player later scored his own goal, he was quick to remind his mates of the hard work ahead of them this term.
Liverpool host Southampton tomorrow at Anfield with Coach Brendan Rodgers side expected to scoop maximum points and speaking to the club’s official website, Moses insists that they have to keep the momentum going by wining games..
“We’re still unbeaten, so we just want to keep the momentum going and try to keep winning games”, said Moses.
On the club’s striking depth, Moses, who was positioned on the left hand side against Swansea and said that he would be happy to play any role in an attempt to extend the Reds’ unbeaten record.
“I’ve always played on the left hand side but then again, I’ll play wherever the manager wants to play me. I’m comfortable playing anywhere up front,” he said.
“We all know Daniel is a great player and a goalscorer as well. He’s in great form at the moment, scoring goals. And not just Daniel, Coutinho as well – he’s a great player. Everyone up front is doing pretty well at the moment”, added the former Wigan forward
The imminent return of Luis Suarez will add plenty to this side. He will add goals, creativity and, in less tangible terms, a “fear factor”. His movement, his sharpness and his desire may also coax an extra level out of others.
And the good news for Liverpool fans is that he is returning not as the saviour of a struggling team, but as someone to improve a team performing admirably without him.
