THE Chris Ngige Campaign Organisation has dismissed allegations levelled against Dr Chris Ngige, Anambra State gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress ( AC) in next February’s election, by the former governor of the state, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
In a press statement issued by the group and signed by its assistant director, information and communication, Chief Pat Anyadubalu, it stated that Mbadinuju did not buy any car for its principal when the latter was serving as PDP assistant secretary for south east.
“ Rather, it was the National Executive Council (NEC) of the PDP that directed the governors of the party to assist national officers from their zones in the state whenever on intergovernmental party assignments†Anyadubalu, said.
He continued: “ It is also not true that Mbadinuju defrayed the personal expenses of Dr. Ngige when he was the national assistant secretary south-east of PDP.
Dr. Ngige was never a pauper to have accepted such a gift from a governor who could not pay salaries of teachers, civil servants which led to the closure of schools in the state for over one year and incessant strikes by the civil servants during his (Mbadinuju) administration of the state.â€
