It was a dream come true last weekend when Amaka Lucy Ezenwankwo a mass communication graduate of Enugu state university of science and technology turned writer launched her first nonfiction novel titled ‘Caught in the storms. The book which exposes the realism of moral decadence of our society , further reveals how cheaply youth are being carried away by the materialistic nature of life.
The young writer however stated that the aim of the book is to convey to the youth of this age that all that glitters are not gold. “the book is a piece that exposes the ills facing mostly young teenage girls in our generation. The book tends to impact teenagers especially young girls morally” she said.
In a chat with press men the Chief launcher of the event Dr. Austin Izagbo however said the Author has proven to be a trailblazer that should be emulated by aspiring young writers in the area of prose and poetry in Nigeria.
The book which exposes the realism of moral decadence in society, further reveals how cheaply youths are being carried away by the materialistic nature of life.
In a keynote speech, the reviewer of the novel, Celey Okogun the CEO of NovelPotta Y & R a front line marketing communications agency in Nigeria. however stated that the book is an enthralling third party narrative prose that appeals to the young and enthusiastic minds, consist of 20 chapters. The novel target youth who crave to get admission into higher institution. He however grouped the book into four stages of five chapters, namely; the good the bad, the ugly, and the end game
Among the Awards won by the author includes poetry category of Young Creative Writers Society of Nigeria (YCWSN) 2011, short stories category of (YCWSN) a quarterly competion 2012 and others
The dignitaries that graced the colorful launch are Dr.Austin Izagbo CEO,Canz limited, Dr.Celey Okogun CEO NovelPotta among others.
