By Onozure Dania
At the resumed hearing of the trial of the seven kidnap suspects, who allegedly kidnapped a 28-year-old man, Ayodele Olaoye, by a lady he met at Pegas Club in Opebi Lagos, the victim has told the court that  he did not raise any alarm because he was in the midst of kidnappers, adding that while he was with them, he heard people’s voices.

He stated that after he escaped from the place, he went to his father’s office and just  told his father’s secretary to call his father.

He said he didn’t tell his father’s secretary what happened to him, but that he just told her to call his father.

Olaoye, who was kidnapped by Esther Phillips, who conspired with six others told an Ikeja High Court yesterday, presided over by justice Olabisi Akinlade that the third defendant told him that he had a gun with him, but that he did not see the gun while he was there.

The other  suspects are Patricia Nna , Kingsley Okonwa, Osita Adigwe , Uzochukwu Ezioha, Jude Sunday and Michael Olarenwaju. During the cross examination of the victim, he said that the third defendant told him that he took his car to Mile 2 area of Lagos, along Badagry expressway.

He said that he had not seen the seventh defendant before until when he got to the police station.

He further added that it never occurred to him to ask the first defendant where they were going to because he trusted her.

He said he  has never asked her where her school was, stating that the fourth defendant entered the car through the front seat and after pushing him to the back, brought out a knife and the first defendant was still inside the car while everything was happening.

Olaoye, stated that he was invited to the police close to Ikeja and told the police what had happened to him and he was told to write a statement which he did.

He also stated that he didn’t know the exact time his father called the police but that he saw the defendant when they were caught within ten days at the police station.

Olaoye, who said that he is a management trainee in his father’s office, said he did not recover any of his items that was stolen from him.
It will be recalled that the seven defendants who were arraigned on March 5 are facing a five-count charge of conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping and neglect to prevent felony.

Olaoye, who had earlier testified that he came back in to the country in December 2011, after his graduation from a University in England, said the first defendant, whom he met at Pegas club in Opebi, gave her name as Jenny and claimed to be a student of Lagos State University LASU.
Olaoye who had  testified yesterday at the trial of the seven kidnap suspects told the court how he was kidnapped on 22 of April 2012, at about 4pm, which was on a sunday, when Phillips  asked him to come and know her hostel in LASU and he agreed because he trusted her.

He said he had drove his Nissan Muranno SUV, which he used to pick Philip up at GTB bank in Opebi and they started driving towards LASU with her giving the directions to Dopemu, where he picked her friend the second defendant, whom he said gave her name as Juliet.

However Justice Akinlade adjourned the matter to June 7, 2013, for continuation of trial.
