The Foreign Polytechnic Project, a partnership between a United Kingdom-based tertiary institution and the Bomadi Vicariate of the Catholic Church, has suffered financial setback in its efforts to complete the permanent site building at Bomadi, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking to newsmen at Bomadi, Bishop of the Vicariate, Most Rev. Hyacinth Egbebo, said the building project had been stalled at the moment because the N15 million needed to complete same could not be accessed.

He appealed to well-meaning sons and daughters of Bomadi Local Government Area, members representing the area at the national and state assemblies, political appointees and the Delta State Government to show support in providing the said sum to complete the project.

He said: “I am appealing to our Senator, House of Representatives member, state Assembly members and political appointees from the area to take up this challenge of raising N15 million.

“If they assist us, they will be opening doors for people because any graduate of the institution is qualified to work in the UK, and our contribution is to ensure that the building site is provided.”

The cleric noted that at the fund-raising ceremony held recently, where they anticipated generous donations to the institution, only a few people showed support.

He added that academic programmes will kick off upon the completion of the university building.
