Onazi Ogenyi
Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has declared it would be a dream come through if he should play for Chelsea.
Onazi was once on trials at Chelsea before he eventually landed a move to Italian side Lazio.
The player, who rose from the Lazio youth team to establish himself in the first team of the Italian Serie A outfit, has revealed he will be delighted to move to the English Premier League with ‘The Blues’.
”Well if the opportunity comes, I will love to go to Chelsea,” said Onazi. ”But right now it’s going well at Lazio and I am enjoying my time in Italy.”
Onazi was rewarded with a contract bonus upon return from the Nations Cup in South and now has a contract at Lazio till 2016.
Meanwhile, Lazio defender Lorik Cana has admitted that their Europa League quarterfinal against Fenerbahce changed after Ogenyi Onazi’s sending off. The Nigeria midfielder was given a second yellow after only 47 minutes in Istanbul on Thursday evening.
And the Albanian has conceded that going down to 10 men, as well as the awarding of a controversial penalty to the Turkish team, contributed to the 2-0 loss.
“After the sending off of Onazi, it was the start of another game,” he said.
“They pushed a lot more and we defended ourselves.
