NOT A LAUGHING MATTER – Siasia
Former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has said he will be willing to tinker the country’s Olympic team again.
Siasia said he has yet to be contacted to take up his former post, but he told MTNFootball.com he would be willing to do the job again.
“I am available for the job to tutor the U23 team if offered the job by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). They have not offered me the job yet, but I am available and ready to work,” Siasia told MTNFootball.com
The former international striker led the team to the final of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where they were beaten in the final by Argentina.
He also guided the country’s team to the final of the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup in the Netherlands.
He was fired as Nigeria coach in October 2011 after he failed to qualify the Super Eagles to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
He has since not worked as a coach despite reports linking him with numerous coaching openings.
