THE Managing Director, Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), Mr. Chandrasheker Krishnadas Thampy has said that his company would continue to identify with projects that will give needed boost to the mental growth of the Nigerian child as this would go a long way in securing their future.

Toyota Nigeria Limited, recently held the third edition of its annual Dream Car Art contest for Nigerian children between the ages of ten to fifteen. The award was in three categories. Nine children emerged winners to represent the country in Japan at the global contest. The children were presented with Lap tops as well as Toyota branded gifts.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony at Toyota head office in Lekki, Lagos, the Managing Director, while congratulating the children for their exploits at the competition, commended their parents and teachers  for guiding and encouraging their wards in the competition which will see them competing with their counterparts from other parts of the world in Japan later in the year.

In his own remark, the Executive Director, Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kunle Ade Ojo expressed satisfaction with the performance of the children in this year’s edition of the competition.

“This year’s winning entries have been the best so far produced by Nigeria and I am optimistic that one of them should be able to make Nigeria proud in Japan,” he said.

In the under ten category of the competition, Abdulsalam Abdulbasi emerged winner while Yahaya Hephziba Ikpeme and Bello Odunayo Adejoke came second and third respectively.

Idusogie Osarhuguemen emerge winner in the under 12 category, followed by Oluyadi Ayomikun Opemipo and Iyke-Oguchukwu Glory Mercy in the second and third positions respectively.

Ulasika Ifeanyi Stanley came top in the Under 15 category while Awurumibe Michael Dubby and Igben Joseph came second and third respectively.

It should be recalled that Toyota (Nigeria) Limited, for the third year running organized the annual Dream Car Art Contest amongst Nigerian children. This aims at availing them with the opportunity to give expression to their budding creative talents with a view to showcasing them on the world.

Over one thousand children enlisted in the contest which took place  in three centres including Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt

Renowned art teachers and professionals converged in each of the centers to carefully select three winning entries from each category. From the 27 winning entries selected from the three centers, nine winning entries were finally selected using environmental friendliness, futuristic and originality as criteria. These entries will be forwarded to Japan to represent Nigeria at the global contest.
