Former Heartland and Gabros striker, Richard Nweze has died.

Nweze slumped and died  in Nnewi on Saturday.

Nweze was also a former junior international as he starred several times for Nigeria’s Under-20 football team, the Flying Eagles.

He also had a brief stint in Europe with the Polish club, Polonia Warsaw but was unattached before his demise.

A former teammate of the late Nweze, Ike Thankgod fought back the tears as he recounted the life and times of the fallen star.

“I still recall the times we spent together at Heartland. He was a true professional and a very humble and unassuming person.

I still can’t believe he is dead,” Ike  said. The cause of the player’s death was still unknown.
