Aregbesola solicits support for APC

BY DANIEL ETEGHE

Lagos— GOVERNOR Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, remained the only credible alternative to move the country out of its present doldrums.

The governor, who spoke shortly on return from his trip to the United States in Lagos, also said the state government was ready to take advantage of the trip to transform its agricultural sector.

Aregbesola, who solicited Nigerians’ support for the new party, said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had shown that it had nothing to offer Nigerians.

He said: “What is clear is that Nigerian people are telling us that the efforts of the PDP  has been disastrous. I am hopeful that the APC will open a new vista  that will guarantee for our people, security, employment , freedom , liberty and good life, to that extent, I have no doubt that APC will over bad leadership.”

He explained that the trip also afforded him the opportunity to explain to Africans in Diaspora the model of development in the state, and steps that could be taken to address issues bordering on overall development as it affects tourism and other sectors.

The governor said part of his trip to the United States was a brief stop at the prestigious Harvard University, where he addressed the African academic community of developments in the country and the challenges of leadership in Nigeria.
