WARRI—IN keeping with his promise to confront kidnappers and other criminals head on in Delta State, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, yesterday, in Asaba, handed over 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles to the state police command for special security patrol.

The initiative, tagged, Delta State Government Special Security Patrol, is part of measures to ensure that crimes such as kidnapping and armed robbery were reduced to the barest minimum in the state.

The vehicles are specifically designated for patrol and surveillance of given routes and highways across the state.

Handing over the vehicles to the police, Uduaghan noted that the rate of kidnapping was reducing in the state and promised to continue to intensify efforts towards providing adequate security.

He said he would provide a safe haven for investors, guarantee peace and security so that prospective investors can operate in a conducive environment.

The governor said the current effort was made to beef up security and sustain the success already recorded in the state, especially in assisting security operatives to maintain peace and security.
