Zumbathon: Dancing against cancer

Are you ready to dance for a worthy cause, support and help create awareness for the endemic disease cancer? Then be part of history by participating in the Zumbathon breast cancer campaign organized by WOW DIVAS.

Zumbathon is a non- stop dance and aerobics exercise that involves hip-hop, salsa, samba, mambo, soca, martial arts, bollywood and belly moves.

A Coordinators of the event, Rita Okoye, said: “the event is to raise awareness throughout Nigeria, on breast cancer; which affects women mainly and a few men. At the event we will be raising the funds and all proceeds will go towards treating patients that are affected and the production and distribution of breast cancer awareness brochures across Nigeria to hospitals, clinics and other targeted locations.

The brochures contain detailed information on how to conduct self check and examination. In creating awareness we hope to minimize the spread and the impact of breast cancer.”

The event which is inspired by the organisation’s vision, to encourage, inspire and actively promote strong women, through finding their place and purpose in life and passionately living their lives to the fullest; empowering each other thereby impacting the society one woman and one family at a time would be holding at the Lagoon Restaurant, on the 10th of November.

Celebrities attending the event include MI, Weird MC, Yemi Blaq, Halima Abubakar, foluke Daramola, Mary Uranta.
