Group tasks youths ahead 2015 elections

The South South Youth Agenda, (SOYA) has enjoined youths in the region to brace up for change in order to tap from the immense benefits of  transformational agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Arising from its last quarter, National Executive meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the group in a communiqué by its national president, Comrade Tom Fredfish, and the regional Vice-President, Hon. (Mrs.) Stella Inyang, described youths from the region as being steadfastness and law abiding despite several  unwarranted killings and provocative utterances from the north”.

They reiterated the youth’s preparedness to shun violence as a way of addressing grievances and has resolved to implement the youth agenda for the region wholeheartedly. Against this backdrop, they employed the youths in the region to endeavour to speak with one voice particularly in mobilizing support for those who are seeking electoral offices by 2015.

“We need forthright persons of proven character to vie for elective offices in the region and not corrupt, selfish and unrepentant cultists. We have identified some leading lights in the region and will honour them in line with our agenda for the region” they said.

The group however listed, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Governor Godswill Akpabio, Chief Etim Inyang, (former police I.G), Chief  Ayiri Emami, Chief Government Tompolo Mofe Mira, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, and Erelu Olusola Obada, Minister of State for Defence (as Friend of South South) among others as potential recipients for awards slated for December.

The group informed that these distinguished persons were selected for their philanthropic gestures and selfless service to the region.
