The Emir of Katsina and Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Abdul-Mumin Kabir Usman, has lauded the transparent manner in which the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bamitale Omole, is running the affairs of the 50-year-old institution.

The Emir stated this when the V-C led a delegation from the university to Katsina to pay him a courtesy visit and to intimate him about series of activities lined up for this year’s convocation ceremony and celebration of the 50th anniversary of the university.

A release by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that the revered monarch, who was delighted to see the VC, expressed his satisfaction on the maintenance of the university environment, particularly the architectural and horticultural aesthetics that dot the entire landscape. He said he was very fortunate to be the chancellor of the university.

While thanking the management of the university for putting in place some policies that could conveniently accommodate students from various parts of the country, he noted that OAU is, indeed, a cosmopolitan institution with tentacles spread across the world. Alhaji Usman promised to do all within his power to further project the image of the university and showcase its vast potentials to the outside world.

Earlier, Prof. Omole, had expressed the appreciation of his administration to the Chancellor for his fatherly advice which he usually gives him and the roles he has always played anytime OAU has dealings with the Federal Government.
