Umuahia—AHEAD of 2011 general elections and as various groups in each state of the federation jostle to get better political positions, the Ukwa and Ngwa stock (Old Aba Division) of Abia State, have cried out against their marginalization in federal appointments.
They said that of all the appointments due to the state, they have been taken by people of the Old Bende division.
They are saying that in order to address the marginalization question, certain political appointments for the state should be conceded to the area, insisting that they produce the wealth for Abia State.
They have pleaded with president Umaru Yar’Adua “to please deliver the Old Aba division (Ukwa Ngwa) people from the injustice and consequently termed this “savageness of manâ€.
According to them, of the 16 people that had served the Federal Government in various capacities like Ministers and Ambassadors in the last 20 years, only one of them came from the area.
